• Pairing the O2 karuna

Before using your O2 karuna headset, you must pair it with your Bluetooth® mobile phone. Pairing is the process of linking 2 Bluetooth® devices, so that they can communicate.

  1. Switch on your phone and select the Bluetooth® discover mode on the mobile phone (consult your Bluetooth® mobile phone user guide).
  2. Press and hold (do not release it) the TALK button for about 7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately. Then release the TALK Button. A beep can be heard in the speaker.
  3. Once the mobile phone detects the headset, a message is displayed containing the name of the headset: “O2 karuna”.
  4. Follow the phone instructions to accept the pairing. The PIN code (or passkey) is 0000.
  5. When the pairing is completed, the indicator light will switch to blue, and flashes slowly.

Two audio communication profiles are used by mobile phones – Headset profile and Hands-free profile. Some mobile phones support only one of them while others support both (for details please click here). The O2 karuna headset supports both profiles. When pairing an O2 karuna with a dual-profile mobile phone, Hands-free profile is used by default. However, some features, such as multi-pairing, only work under Headset profile. If you wish to use Headset profile, you have to force the mobile phone to pair under Headset profile by pressing the Vol- on your O2 karuna headset around 15 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately. Then follow the steps above.

The profiles available for use may be restricted by functions available on your specific handset, please consult your handset manual.
