What is Bluetooth® wireless technology?

Bluetooth® wireless technology is a worldwide specification for a small-form factor, low-cost radio solution that provides links between mobile computers, mobile phones, other portable handheld devices, and connectivity to the Internet. The specification is developed, published and promoted by the Bluetooth® Special Interest Group (SIG).

What is Profile?

A profile is something like a driver so if 2 devices don't have the same driver, they couldn't communicate to each together.

What is Headset Profile?

The Headset profile provides the following features: Accept incoming call, terminate a call, audio connection transfer during an active call, voice recognition. Headset profile is basic but sufficient for a standard usage. However, some of the mobiles does not support headset profile, like Nokia 3650, 6600, N-gage, 7610, 6260, 6670 etc., you will then have to choose the mobile setting to work under Handsfree profile.

What is Handsfree Profile?

Handsfree profile provide more functions like redial and reject a call. Bluetrek's Bluetooth® headset support both headset and handsfree profiles and can work with most of the Bluetooth® mobiles in the market.

What kind of profile does Bluetrek's product support?

Bluetrek's products are qualified Bluetooth® headset that complies with the Bluetooth® 1.2 protocol (compatible with Bluetooth® 1.1 protocol). It supports two profiles: Headset Profile and Hands-free Profile. It will work with any qualified Bluetooth® devices that support the Headset profile or Hand-free profile.

Is my phone compatible with the headset and how to pair my phone with the headset?

You can find the compatibility phone list in each of our product support inside the website.

Below are the generic steps of pairing, you may follow them to pair your phone and your headset.

Firstly, turn off your headset. After that,place the Bluetrek headset and your mobile phone within 0.3 meter (1 foot) from each other and press on the button around 7 seconds until you get red and blue flashes alternately. Now the headset is in pairing mode. Then on your phone you have to activate the Bluetooth option then put it in pairing mode (something like "search...") then after the phone discover the headset you select it then you enter “0000” when the phone ask for the pass code.

Can I use the linear charger to charge Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 headset?

The headset of Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 can only be charged with travel charger. It is not compatible with linear charger.

What is the difference between the Bluetooth® Specification V1.1 and V1.2 headset?

The main difference is the frequency range. The Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 has less interference by WI-FI or other Bluetooth® device as it supports wider frequency range.

What’s the difference between the Bluetooth V1.2 and Bluetooth V2.0?

Bluetooth V1.2 is the old version adopted in November, 2003. Bluetooth V2.0 is the current version with the EDR (enhanced data rate) technology, which has a data transfer rate that can be up to 3Mbps in V2.0 (verses 1Mbps for V1.2).

My phone supports Bluetooth® Specification V1.1. Can it be compatible with Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 headsets?

Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 is compatible with Bluetooth® Specification V1.1, which means you can still use your headset with your Bluetooth® Specification V1.1 devices. (Bluetooth® Specification V2.0 is compatible with Bluetooth® Specification V1.2 too.)

I charged the headset but I cannot switch it on. What should I do?

Your headset may go to sleeping mode occasionally. Please follow the steps below to recover it:

  1. Make sure the headset is fully charged.
  2. Reset the headset by charging it for 30 seconds.
  3. The battery is fully recovered when the red indicator turns off.
You may repeat the steps to recover the headset. If the problem remains, please contact your retailer or local distributor for further assistance(contact should be on the packaging box).

Can I replace the battery of the headset myself?

You can not replace the battery yourself as the battery is embedded in the headset and not changeable. In case of having problems with the battery of the headset, please contact your retailer/ distributor for assistance. However, if your headset is non warranty products, we will not arrange the repair or replacement.

Do not try to replace the battery yourself as this will lead to suspension of warranty.

What is Pairing?

Pairing is the process of linking 2 Bluetooth® devices, so that they can communicate.

How to initiate pairing?

  1. No other Wi-Fi device is under operation in the vicinity
  2. Place the Bluetrek headset and your mobile phone within 0.3 meter (1 foot) from each other.
  3. Switch on your phone and select its Bluetooth® discover mode (refer to the Bluetooth® mobile phone user manual).
  4. When the Bluetrek headset is switched off, press and hold the TALK button for about 7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately. And a sound can be heard in the speaker
  5. Once the mobile phone detects the headset, the name of the headset will be displayed. Follow the phone instructions to accept the pairing. The PIN code (or passkey) is 0000, then press "yes" or "ok".

What's the pairing pin code and can I change it?

The default pin code or passkey of our products are "0000" and it is unchangeable by users.

Why "No device found" shows on my mobile phone during the pairing?

The "No device found" problem occurs when the headset is not set to pairing mode. Please try the steps below to set the headset to pairing mode:

  1. Switch off the headset.
  2. Press and hold the talk button for around 7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately. Then you can follow the pairing process to finish the pairing.

My mobile has both Headset and Handsfree profile, how can I force my headset using Headset profile?

  1. Make sure your headset is off.
  2. Switch on your phone and select the Bluetooth® discover mode on the mobile phone (see the Bluetooth® mobile phone user guide).
  3. Press and hold the Vol- button for about 15 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternatively.
  4. Once the mobile phone detects the headset, a message is displayed with your product name.
  5. Follow the phone instructions to accept the pairing. The PIN code (or passkey) is 0000.
  6. When the pairing is completed, the indicator light will switch to blue and flashes slowly.
  7. Your headset is now ready to use.

Important Note: This function is not suitable for all Bluetrek headsets, please double check your manual to confirm this function.

How to adjust the microphone volume of the headset?

The microphone volume of the headset is a default setting and not adjustable.

How can I get better sound performance of my headset?

  1. Make sure that you are within the 10-meters limit and that there are not too many obstacles. You may be too close to other radio wave interferences (the headset has an emission power of 2.5mWatt which is 400 times weaker than a normal mobile phone).
  2. Move away from all possible sources of interference like a microwave oven, wireless keyboard or Wi-Fi which may operate with the 2.4 GHz technology (same frequency as Bluetooth®).
  3. Don't put your mobile on the opposite side of the headset. For example, if you put your mobile in your right pocket, you should put your headset on the right ear. Otherwise, the signal is blocked by your body and especially by your brain because microwaves are very sensitive to water (your body is full of water).

I cannot hear anything in the headset. What should I do?

Please make sure your headset is fully charged. Delete the current connection in your phone and pair again. The problem should be solved.

What's the reason of echo problem? How to solve it?

Please check the following conditions:

  • If you hear the echo from your side, it may be the problem of either your phone operator or the phone from the person who is calling you.
  • If the person you are talking with hears echo, then try to adjust the headset's volume.

Why is the indicator light flashing?

This is to indicate the headset's status. Flashing means the headset is in standby mode.

Why is the indicator light always in red?

During the first time charging which takes around 8 hours, the indicator light will remain red. The indicator light will turn off when the charge is complete. During subsequent charges, the charging should take approximately 2 hour 40 minutes.

If you encounter the indicator always be red no matter how long the headset is charged, please unplug the headset from the charger and recharge the headset. The indicator light should turn off after charging for a while. If the problem remains, please contact your retailer or local distributor (contact should be on the packaging box).

Can I use Bluetooth® headset for my PC or PDA?

Although our Bluetooth® headsets are designed to work with mobile phones, it is also compatible with other Bluetooth® enabled devices such as PDAs & computers that support Headset and / or Hands-free profile. However, we do not guarantee the performance due to different computer systems and adapter used.

Nevertheless, we can give you a few tips if you want to use your Bluetooth® headset for computer:

  • (If your PC does not support Bluetooth®) Make sure your PC is connected to a fully qualified Bluetooth® USB adapter which supports either Audio Gateway headset profile or handsfree profile.
  • (If your PC supports Bluetooth®) Check if your PC has Bluetooth® stack which is able to support the voice profiles like headset or handsfree profile.
  • Make sure your PC have a special application enable the Bluetooth® to handle commands like take a call or hang up.
  • Double check with your retailer and ask for demonstration.
  • Never forget to study the manual before use.

Can I transfer a file or MP3 via the Bluetooth® headset?

No. Our Bluetooth® headsets can only work with voice profile (headset and handsfree profile) but not data profile (eg: document / Jpeg / MP3). That means you can use the headset for your Skype, MSN or internet phone but cannot transfer a photo or a song to your devices.

What is Voice Recognition? Is it related with Bluetooth® headset?

All Bluetrek headsets can send a command to the mobile to activate voice recognition function. However, voice recognition has nothing related with the headset; it really depends on the phone capability. That is why if you want to use the voice recognition function from the headset, you have to first make sure your mobile supports voice recognition.

DSP is the short form of Digital Signal Processing. DSP technology can reduce noise and cancel echo on the headset.

What is Voice Alert?

Voice Alert is an advanced feature that is now available on Bluetrek headset such as UFO. A recorded voice reminds you of the actions in your headset, such as: redial the last number, reject a call, call your favourite number, when your headset needs to be charged and if your headset is connected/disconnected from the handset. You can select to activate or inactivate this function.

How do I pair my headset with a PC that equipped with a Bluetooth Dongle?

  1. Follow the on screen instruction to finish the blueSoleil installation. Insert the Bluetooth dongle to USB interface.
  2. Open the BlueSoleil software. Set the headset in pairing mode.*

    * When the headset is off, press and hold the talk button around 7 seconds until the indicator light shows blue and red alternately. Now the headset is in pairing mode.
  3. Press the center ball to search the Bluetooth device
  4. The headset will be shown on the window.
  5. Right click on the headset icon then choose “Pair Device”.
  6. A window”Enter Bluetooth Passkey” will pop up. Enter “0000” as pass code.

  7. Right click on “Refresh Services” then click on “Connect”. Choose “Bluetooth headset Service”.
  8. Slightly press the talk button, the arrow icon becomes blue.  Now the connection is finished*.  The Bluetooth icon on the down right corner of the screen will become green.

  9. *Once the pairing established with Bluesoleil, you can slightly press the talk button to reconnect when the headset is on.
  10. You need make some setting in your PC.  Go to PC Setting-control panel.
  11. Click on "Sounds and audio devices".  A property window will pop up.  Go to the speaker setting section and choose advanced.  Choose the "Stereo headphone" as default speaker.


  12. Referring to the illustration blow, choose "Bluetooth AV/HS Audio" under Audio and voice setting.


  13. Click on Apply and then OK.  Now you can use the headset with the Media player or Skype software, etc.

What is microSDHC?

The microSDHC (SD High Capacity) card is the new microSD memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association.

This new SDA 2.00 specification enables microSDHC cards to reach higher capacities (remark: this device supports up to 8G memory)

Bluetrek Bizz is a microSDHC compatible host devices.

Physically, a microSD and a microSDHC memory card are of the same size in shape, however, a microSDHC memory card is recognized by microSDHC compliant host devices, differently then standard microSD cards. The microSDHC memory cards can only work with microSDHC compatible host devices and they are not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices but SD memory cards (Version 1.1) are forward compatible with new microSDHC host devices.
